NIOS Admission 2024: NIOS or National Institute of Open Schooling was founded in November 1989. It is an autonomous organization by the Ministry of Education (MOE), Government of India. It provides a huge number of Vocational, Life Enrichment, and community-oriented courses along with General and Academic Courses at both Secondary and Senior Secondary levels. In addition to this, it also offers Elementary level Courses through its Open Basic Education Programmes (OBE). Age Criteria

Free Online Tuition for Class 6th Maths:

  • For 10th – The minimum age of admission for NIOS class 10th admission is 14 Years as on January 31, 2024. Those who are born on or before January 31, 2009, may apply for class 10
  • For 12th – The minimum age of admission for NIOS class 12th admission is 15 Years as on January 31, 2024. Those who are born on or before January 31, 2008, may apply for class 12

Qualification:

  • Students must have cleared class 8 from the recognized board or must have the knowledge to sit for the class 10 exam. It is crucial for candidates to give a self-certificate stating that they have studied enough to be eligible for NIOS 10th registration 2024.
  • Applicant must have cleared class 10 from the recognized board to apply for class 12th NIOS admission. Also, students who are applying immediately after clearing class 10 will not be permitted to sit for exams for all the subjects in one attempt.

Documents Required for Admission:

Submit the scanned copy of the documents for admission. Check the list below:

  • Address proof (Aadhaar card/water bill/electricity bill/voter ID/ration card)
  • Identity Proof (Aadhaar card or passport or ration card or any other identity proof)
  • Birth certificate
  • Signature (preferred in black ink)
  • Latest passport size colored photograph
  • Class 8th mark sheet (for students applying for NIOS 10th or secondary course)
  • Class 10th mark sheet (students applying for NIOS 12th exams)
  • Disability certificate (for PwD category candidates)
  • Caste certificate (for SC/ST/OBC category candidates)
  • Ex-serviceman certificate (for candidates applying under the Ex-serviceman category)

Application Process:

Here is the step-by-step process to apply for NIOS Admission 2024 Class 10th and 12th:

  • Go to the official website of NIOS. The Home Page will open for NIOS 10th, and 12th forms.
  • Fill in the application form with accurate information.
  • Now, upload the scanned copy of the documents and submit the form.
  • Make the payment of the application fee.
  • After this, an applicant can check the NIOS admission status online.

Application Fee:

The applicants need to pay the application fee via online mode such as credit card /debit card/net banking. Check the class-wise application fee below:

  • Online Application Form Fee – Rs 50
  • Additional Fee (Per Subject) – Rs 720

Class 10:

  • General Category Male-Rs. 1800
  • General Category Female-Rs. 1450
  • Exempted Category (SC/ST, Ex-Servicemen, PwD) – Rs. 1200

Class 12:

  • General Category Male: Rs. 2000
  • General Category Female: Rs. 1650
  • Exempted Category (SC/ST, Ex-Servicemen, PwD) – Rs. 1300

Important Dates (Stream 1)

NIOS commenced admissions for classes 10 and 12 two times a year. Here are the dates:

  • NIOS admission (normal fee) – December 01, 2023, to January 31, 2024
  • Admission (with late fee Rs. 200) – February 01 to February 15, 2024
  • With a late fee of Rs 400 – from February 16 to February 28, 2024
  • With a late fee of Rs 700 – March 01 to March 15, 2024
  • Exam Dates – October/November 2024

Stream 2-Admission for April 2024:

  • Only successful students of classes 10 and 12 from the recognized board are eligible to seek NIOS 2024 admission under stream 2.
  • They can also fetch the facility of Transfer of Credit (TOC) up to 2 subjects from the parent board.
  • Candidates must have cleared the subjects with 33% marks or equivalent grades.
